In the mold making industry, various types of metal and plastic molds are produced in order to make different parts. When it is necessary to produce a large number of parts, the part manufacturer orders the mold maker to produce the said part and then uses that mold to improve production. Complex industrial parts require very precise molds. That is why mold making is one of the most specialized jobs today.
1) Mold design
Template designers today design templates using special computer programs such as IMOLD, Solid Works, and CATIA instead of taking the mold from the original piece. In the past, however, only the existing part had the ability to mold, but with the advancement of technology, designers have the ability to design molds that may not be available from the mold. These designs are all three-dimensional and have the ability to apply the necessary subtleties.
2) Mold manufacturing
The second step is to create a three-dimensional design that the designer has designed using computer software.
These molds are used to make plastic parts. The molds are made of steel, but injecting polymer materials into the steel mold is a relatively complex technology that will not be ineffective in increasing production costs.
